The Effect of Deviant Workplace Behavior on Job Performance: The Mediating Role of Organizational Shame and Moderating Role of Perceived Organizational Support

It is not uncommon for employees to engage in deviant workplace behavior. Several studies have been conducted on its antecedent variables and negative effects the organization members. However, employees’ emotions behavior ignored. According affective events theory framework of organizational shame, this study examined how affects employee performance, explored shame mediates, investigated role perceived support moderators. This was completed by 435 Chinese total. The results showed following. (1) Deviant significantly positively predicted negatively job performance. Organizational (2) mediated relationship between there were gender differences mediating role. (3) Perceived weakened effect As a result, proves applicability context provides theory, from perspective actors. Furthermore, offers insight into ameliorate
